Golpe - Subisci. Conformati. Rassegnati.

back from the Mystic break with an EP to ease back into it. anywho i really like this band and if you like hardcore in any way you should check this band out. they can be melodic but more often than not it's just brutal hardcore all the way. i looooooove the guitar tone on this. overall very slay

Nailed To Obscurity - Generation of the Void
70

only ever heard this band's name in passing, never listened to em. it's good, i wasn't fully sold on it from the beginning though, however once we got to Overcast i started enjoying my time with it. it's a modern sound for sure. vocals are a bit hit and miss for me but this is probably a personal bias of mine. anywho if you enjoy modern melodeath this might be something to check out. overall slay

Ashen Tomb - Ecstatic Death Reign

i'm surprised it's this good too - when i saw them live it was good but not on this level fr fr. maybe i caught them on a bad day who knows. but anyways this is all i love about death metal. the riffs are quite melodic too which is a nice change of pace from some other DM out there. anywho highly recommend. overall very slay

Eveale - Enter the Woodland Realm
70

it's a cool BM record, nothing that would grab my attention particularly in it - it's quite level throughout but still a good listen. did enjoy it. overall slay

Knife Bride - don't dream too much
70

this is quite heavy for a metalcore album - i really respect this and this is one of the times where i will say it's brevity is a bit of a downside - i want more! it's quite close to very good for me but i'll stick it down in good for now, maybe i'll come around to pushing it higher sometime. overall slay

one of my favourites from them - filled to the brim with atmosphere and flowing beautifly. also has my favourite song of theirs as an opener so it's just made specifically for me it would seem. overall very slay

Venom - Into Oblivion
NR

if they gonna treat me with ai slop on IG it's only fair that i not listen to their new bs

Kult - Kult

big and strong debut ngl tough shit. more variety than i expected too. very nice. overall very slay

Crematory Stench - Grotesque Deformities
70

i like the atmospheric nature of this although at the core this is death. doesn't overstay it's welcome and flows nicely. overall slay

Obituary - Slowly We Rot

og classic death, wonderfully produced there is nothing here one could be angry about. big recommend. overall very slay

Sznur - Cwel
NR

not listening to this band, thanks

Sevendust - ONE

it's a very boring album, doesn't really bring anything interesting to the table at all. poppy in a bad way. also vocals are quite annoying. overall meh

Dawn Of Ouroboros - Bioluminescence
70

mostly prog with a bunch of death and other things thrown into the mix. it's good and probably objectively maybe even very good but i'm not a huge prog person and so i'll leave it at good, but i can see how this can be someone's 80 or even a 90. it can be quite beautiful at times. overall slay

Revocation - Empire of the Obscene
80

a very good album, speaks to my soul for sure. tight riffs and real technical feel to this record. these guys are great. overall very slay

Wormrot - Hiss
90

what an amazing album, holy fuck. blew me away. very unique grindcore. mix is pristine, the playing is immediately captivating and vocals are awesome too. one cannot go wrong with this stuff. overall amazing

Mauled - When Your Eyes Are Shut
70

a very nice blend of modern death metal and deathcore. got better with each step of the way through this EP. i do recommend this if you enjoy any of that style. vocals are straight deathcore though, just fyi. overall slay

Kvelertak - Westcoast Holocaust
70

a beginning of what's to come from this band, if you've listened to their S/T you know what to expect, except it's a demo quality. overall slay

Hyperdontia - Abhorrence Veil
70

this band usually provides solid DM and this is once again the case with this little EP. not much more to say really, if you like DM you should enjoy this. overall slay

Lepra - Wretched Creatures EP
70

a melting pot of genres, ideas and vibes honestly. the mix is a bit unusual but so is the instrumentation so that makes sense, but it feels a bit random at times, some times you can hear the vocals better than others. it's still cool though, has my stamp of approval. overall slay

"@aliceunderstars yeah you're probably right in the most technical sense but i always struggle with labels in the sense that i find some genre labels just have a vibe to them and for me as you can see deathcore did not even come to mind when listening to this and instead i came up with 4 other labels sounding more plausable to me. my brain is weird :3"
