Spill Magazine
If a listener enjoys heavier rock, or nu metal, this is definitely the album to be checking out. There’s a lot of variety on this tracklist for different tempos, moods, and even for subgenres. Everyone will find at least a single track that they enjoy.

Lajon Witherspoon and company have created something magical in "One", and what's even wilder is that they're doing it more than three decades into their career.

Distorted Sound

Overall, One is a classic Sevendust record, proving that they are still more than capable of providing monstrous riffs and choruses.

"One" opens it up, fairly standard but I like the overall presence, the melodic undertones are nice. Kind of reminds me of Lacuna Coil a bit, it's solid but nothing too crazy. Easy to get into.

"Unbreakable" is solid as well, pretty standard at first still but I think it gains steam well, tight vocal presence. Pretty easy to get into also but still nothing nuts. "Is This The Real You" keeps it consistent, extra beefy groove here and powerful vocals, decent ... read more

Meh, it's Sevendust album number 15. It's their shortest record by a couple minutes, but that's the most interesting part about it, so it doesn't exactly feel that short. There are some cool riffs, the drumming is always fantastic and groovy, and Lajon's vocals don't miss. That could be said for literally any one of their records, there's really nothing here you couldn't get out of Home or Animosity, or in the case of their more polished modern sound, ... read more

not bad but every mainstream hard rock song nowadays sounds like this

also i feel like sevendust as a band doesn't have much of an identity outside of lajon's vocals

keep it up, baby!

I want to love this album. There are so many good moments on it but it reminds me a little too much of Kill The Flaw in that there is a lot of fat that could have been trimmed. The band sounds incredible given their tenure in the scene. Drums are clean and intentional with Morgan's signature simple sounding but when you look deeper complex style. The Guitars are heavy and well rounded, bass following both bringing it together and Lajon soaring like an angel over the top. Sounds like they ... read more
