Sevendust has a very consistent alt metal sound that I like, and there's no denying all the members are talented, but a full album experience kinda feels redundant to me. This album does have some incredible songs on it such as Praise and the closer Angel's Son, but the rest of it doesn't exactly do a lot to stand out from itself. The couple songs that are acoustic-led are a welcome change of pace, but everything else just follows the same template that it almost begs for me to ... read more

Heavy riffs, Heavy angst, yeah it's Nu Metal time! Shit needs a revival honestly I think kids these days would really fuck with it.
Sevendust may not be the first band you think of when the genre comes up, but damn are they an underrated act. They do all the right things that I like out of this genre without being too much like some acts tend to fall into being. Here's a statement I wrote for this review: Why is Sevendust "underrated"?

Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, Korn, Slipknot, System of a Down. Those are all bands you know and probably love, and they still get constant radio play today. This album was recommended to me by my friend @SubwaySibling so go check out their profile.

Anyway onto the actual album, Animosity started very strongly with T.O.A.B. Which got me pumped for the rest, but unfortunately after that the album feels very repetitive. Nothing bad, but I couldn’t decipher some songs from others.

Highlights: T.O.A.B.

Do some songs sound pretty similar? Yes. Do I care? No. I still think it's their best album. Angel's Son is still one of the best tribute songs ever
