Hannah Frances - Keeper Of The Shepherd
NR

haunting dissonance, unnerving rhythm, the soft greyness of the sky envelops me and takes me sweetly into its arms where i rest, comfortably cold

i had never heard of hannah frances before this album, but i am going to be catching up on all the time i missed without her music coasting alongside me, i like this album very much so. i adore the abstraction of her rhythm and the way her voice floats over almost ghostly, but with an earthen strength. this accompanied with her lyrics that draw ... read more

Tapir! - The Pilgrim, Their God & The King Of My Decrepit Mountain
NR

owiieeee might be one of my favs of the year so far. listened on the train so intently the ticket instructor had to really work to get my attention. let me get my gripes out of the way first: i think the narration was almost entirely unnecessary, these tracks are well composed enough to conjure a story and narrate the journey through music alone, i think it weakened the project in my opinion but i can be forgiving of this because i understand what they were going for. to be honest though i ... read more

Loving - Any Light
NR

sounds 'nice' and also like every other loving song i've ever heard, which isn't necessarily a bad thing it is very easy on the ears and pretty sounding, however it sounds almost indistinguishable from every other piece of their discography and leaves me feeling a little disappointed. it feels like they've created a specific sound that does make it easy to discern them from others but they can't really escape this little box they've confined themselves to. be brave and put ur boots on and ... read more
