When The Mountain was first announced, I had no idea what to expect, with "The Happy Dictator" being my first exposure. Additionally, with the band's plot of Murdoc possibly becoming a dictator of a micronation in the Himalayas, I thought it would an album dealing with the horrors of colonization against the backdrop of the world's politics.
