I swear I am trying.

Genuinely, how far can one artist make songs that tread the same landscape over and over, I feel like I’m being collectively gaslit to think this is somehow breaking new ground or that it’s shaking something up musically or even lyrically. I went into this with an open mind hoping she would do something that would surprise me but it just ended in the same old disappointment I have felt after finishing her past two albums.

I’m not even trying to be a hater on purpose, but this album reinforces why i don’t enjoy her music as much anymore.

It’s truly an album that I can only see the swifties enjoy as it’s been her typical sound for about half a decade now.

The instrumentals are quite bare which usually is not an issue for me but even her vocal delivery is not compelling. Lana Del Rey is not necessarily an adept “vocalist” but she has the ability to make a song interesting ... read more

I wasn’t really into Ethel Cain’s music prior to this project, i never had the time to get into Preacher’s Daughter but the lore surrounding the album did intrigue me quite a bit. After listening to this project, I definitely want to give her music a chance.

The biggest sin this album commits is being corny

the lyricism especially takes a major hit. SAWAYAMA had cheeky lyrics but did not sound corny as hell like this album, it still had a sense of coolness to it, i can’t say the same for this album.

A lot of the songs also sound kinda the same? which is not necessarily an issue since the songs are still catchy and have nice production but still kinda makes the album repetitive.

i guess this could be classified as the “fun” ... read more

I’ve never been into FKA Twigs like that, I liked a few songs off of MAGDALENE and appreciated the production on it.

I got into this project with high expectations but I couldn’t get into most of the songs.

I can appreciate interludes but i don’t love them enough for it to be so frequent.

I do think the production is cool and fun but not something i see myself listening to in my regular, It’s not particularly catchy to me.

I ended up gravitating towards the more ... read more
