"Glitter" is a solid, if mildly underwhelming record from Vylet Pony. This is my first time being exposed to anything pre-CUTIEMARKS that she's made, and it's certainly an interesting change of pace, for better or worse. While the vocals have remained relatively the same, the instrumentals and general production feels a lot more stripped down and simplistic, kind of bare at points in a way that affected some of these songs negatively, in my opinion. Perhaps this was just a decision that was made for this album and the mix is a bit fuller on other projects from this time, I have no idea. All I do know is that while I liked what I was hearing here, I can't exactly say that I loved this, really. Because while the highlights here are pretty great, the weakest moments here tend to leave a lot to be desired, in my opinion.
