Апорєа - На рєкахъ Вавл҃нскыхъ
This is less of a review, and more jumbled, unfinished thoughts. Might update this in the morning, but for now, this is all I've got.

I don't consider myself to be a very religious person. I very rarely delve into topics like spirituality on here or just in general, as it's a topic that on one hand is very touchy and on the other is something that I feel like I have very little grasp on. To put it in simpler terms, I'm an atheist trying desperately to make sense of the concept of ... read more

Linda Perhacs - Parallelograms
While there's some pretty singing and nice lyricism on here, I mostly see "Parallelograms" as an album brought down the most by its recording quality. The vocals sound fine, but the instrumentals sound like they were recorded on a phone or something like that, and it severely hinders the tracks here as a result.
Justice - †
Justice's "†" is a groovy, exciting party of a record that I kind of uhhh loved! Everything from the buzzing, colorful synths, fun vocal leads, and intoxicatingly simple lyrics make listening through this record a blast. While there are occasional weak spots, sure, these moments are so few and far between that it hardly makes a difference when taking into account the immensely enjoyable experience that this album provides for nearly its entire run. I wouldn't recommend it as ... read more
Dean Blunt - Give me a moment
Very poor recording quality and generally the songs here feel unfinished. The vocals sound sleepy and bored, and the whole thing just doesn't leave much of an impression at all.
David Bowie - Station to Station
Sat through the whole album just to hear that "Wild is the Wind" cover and honestly? It was totally worth it.
Gregory & The Hawk - The Boats and Birds EP
The electronic elements aren't super well integrated on the two remixes here, but other than that this is a really sweet little project. Something about Meredith's soft and gentle voice and her refreshingly simple instrumentation has always really spoken to me, and the title track is a great example of that I feel like.
Joni Mitchell - Song to a Seagull
A really nice collection of tracks from Joni. It's obviously not her best, but like, was anyone expecting it to be? This was her debut after all, and for a debut she comes across pretty fully formed, which is very impressive. Everything that makes her music great is here, I just feel like later records down the line showed off her vocal range and knack for songwriting.
Charli XCX - Pop 2
Pussy 2
Lil Yachty - Let's Start Here.
While Yachty's vocals aren't the most impressive or technically sound, and there are occasional jarring transitions or moments here and there, the highs more than make up for any lows this album may have. The psych rock instrumentation is amazing and the production is pretty spotless, and there's just so many transcendent moments and passages here. I'm genuinely kind of shocked at how well this turned out. Don't miss out!
Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers - Mosaic
Why would I even bother listening to and exploring new music and genres when I can just check out more jazz? Anyways, I loved this thing a lot. This is easily the most a project has got me moving in some time, and the energy of this album throughout is just undeniable, it doesn't let up for a second. I also love how each instrument feels very present in the mix, as it makes the listening experience overwhelming in an extremely exciting way. While each player here does a fantastic job, I gotta ... read more
Vince Guaraldi - It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown
Made me feel like a kid again :)
Dolly Parton - Jolene
Dolly Parton is literally one of the coolest human beings ever to exist, and this album is so, so nice. I really love Dolly's voice and her lyrics just push all the right buttons for me. I can only see this getting better with time, but yeah. Loved it. Highly recommend checking it out, even if you're not a particularly big fan of country.
Minnie Riperton - Come to My Garden
Really lush soundscapes and wonderful from both a musical and lyrical standpoint. The singing is really beautiful, and the project as a whole just leaves a good impression on the listener.
Eddie Gale - Eddie Gale's Ghetto Music
"Eddie Gale's Ghetto Music" manages to cast a hypnotic spell over the listener from its first few seconds alone. The vocals are beautiful and alluring, the instrumentals varied and entrancing, the lyrics endlessly intriguing. All these elements are perfectly matched with the almost spiritual energy that this collective brings to the table, and you can tell that every single person involved in the making of this album poured their heart and soul into it. On top of this, there's just ... read more

Lincoln - Everything is Wrong
I admire the clear passion and love that was poured into this thing, but with that being said, I don't like it. While I'm all for artists switching up their sound and doing different things, I don't think Lincoln's voice, tone or lyrics really fit this style well at all. It just sounds unnatural and a little amateurish to my ears. That's not to say that any of these tracks are bad, most of them are just fine or decent, but as a whole this project is just aggressively mediocre and reeks of an ... read more
John Lennon / Plastic Ono Band - John Lennon / Plastic Ono Band
Bonus points for this one being actually musical, I guess. On a more serious note, though, this is kind of a mixed bag for me personally. John's vocals are mostly fine, he's never been one of my favorite vocalists, but his voice sounds OK here, when he's not screaming that is. Then it sounds borderline hideous. The lyrics here are pretty weak, especially by the standards of someone like John, who was well known for his songwriting. On here, a lot of the lyrics just read as very dull political ... read more
Lizzo - Special
There's just no flavor to this? The vocals are pretty standard for Lizzo, if a bit under ambitious, and the instrumentals especially feel weak and stale. The lyrics are basic self-love type stuff that honestly just kind of makes me roll my eyes at this point, and the whole project just feels really derivative and flashy for the sake of being flashy. Simply put, no one will remember who Lizzo is ten years from now.
Porter Robinson - Worlds (Remixed)
The fact that the part of fellow feeling that was literally made to shit on 90% of EDM from the 2010s was remixed into a danceable, explosive section is honestly just the perfect encapsulation of this colossal piece of shit
Orchid - Chaos Is Me
This album is dirty, dark and dangerous. The guitar tones are menacing, the vocals manage to do the screamo sound in a way that doesn't feel grating or annoying, and the wall of sound that each track manages to capture is just so exciting to listen through. Sitting at a brief 19 minute runtime, "Chaos Is Me" doesn't overstay its welcome for a second. It's a quick rush of adrenaline that I'm looking forward to experiencing again. All killer, no filler.

"@Calupmullings ok? whats your point? unless its a rare case like ugly mane's mista thug isolation where the lyrical concepts are generic but written in pretty hilarious ways, i would have my gripes with the lyrics on any other album like this. except abel isn't trying to be funny, rather, he attempts to look cool in the same way that a college kid who vapes everyday and rates people based on their appearance attempts to look cool. the personality he portrays is unlikeable and, if i didn't know how much his music would evolve in the years following, i probably would've avoided ever listening to more of him."
