The album art is sick. I like this record, I like the grungy, dirty sound, It kind of feels like it has less of a production value then show no mercy. A lot of gross, gory, and explicit lyrics on the record which I didn't notice the first time around. The guitar riffs are great, the drums are great, the bass is great, the vocals are great, the whole band was just on top of their game with this record. I like the soundscape of this record, it matches well with the artwork, I'm going to be harsh ... read more
I was blown away by this record. Not because it was one of the best records I have ever heard but because of the lyrics, the vocals, and the grooves being so strong. Usually when I hear rap metal I cringe but this album is able to combine these two genres a hell of a lot better then other songs i've heard, 8/10
I think this album is the best debut album from the big four. Is it perfect? No. Is there a lot of room for improvement? Yes. Relatively short album with a great album cover. Drums feel very punk rock inspired. A bit of echo on the vocals. Some classic riffs on this record. The antichrist has been one of my favorite riffs. Somehow slayer manage to be very good and consistent on their debut record. I think this is a great record, I would give the album 6.5/10
A great record. Are they as experimental as they became? no. but as a guitar record it is pretty great. Oasis vibes at times, and even a bit of the cure especially one of the tracks with the clean strummed guitar. A couple of tunes are on the weaker side but there are tracks that I think are great, they have great melody, good chords, or a interesting idea. The most uplifted and boy-ant Thom Yorke has sounded. Don't have the album on repeat but I will gladly give the record a 7.5/10
