I think people are missing the fact this album is a blatant satire and a metaphor of the emptiness of a psychosadist murderer; a very well presented satire at that, but I get why it turns some of ya'll off. The singles are the biggest redeeming factor of this album. The other songs fall short but hey. It’s a cute album.
While noticeably one of Hayden’s weaker projects,
“Willoughby Tucker, I'll Always Love You” is nonetheless one of Anhedönia’s most relaxing yet beautifully visceral albums.
I think I finally get this album.
I’ve heard countless songs off of Fetch the Bolt Cutters. But it’s never clicked until today with me. Dare I say this is her best album, lyrically and visually.
Listened to this finally at three in the morning in some random field in Idaho during a snowstorm. 10/10 recommend. Both the album and setting the scene lol. Oh and this was made a couple weeks after the albums release but my dumbass deleted my rating instead of my review when trying to edit it…

I’m unabashedly partial to Fiona Apple, but her sophomore album When the Pawn… is something else entirely.
This is probably my thousandth listen since I first found Fiona - ten years ago through my mother - and somehow, it only gets better.
Adrienne Lenker is the lyricist of our time.
“Songs” is so nostalgic in the most painful yet romantic ways. Her guitar is so so so so so so gorgeous.
This could genuinely be a movie’s soundtrack. Every. Single. Song. Is absolutely cinematic and rawly gorgeous. You’re practically brought into a world of its own listening to this.
What most music today lacks is emotion. This album is so absolutely stunning and subverts that notion entirely. Every note is so sincere it hurts, you feel like you yourself experienced the dread sung about throughout the album’s runtime.
