Lil Yachty, the same man responsible for the critically panned "Lil Boat" series and the inept "Teenage Emotions" album, dropping what's arguably one of the best, most intriguing projects of the entire year was nowhere to be seen on my 2023 bingo card. I'm legitimately in a state of ineffable amazement after my first listen. The production is innovative and top tier quality, the vocals have such a transcendental flare to them which do the instrumentals justice, and the aesthetics were hypnotic, yet tantalizingly beautiful. Virtually every piece to this psychedelic puzzle was well-executed.

Kudos to Yachty for going against the grain by reinventing his sound. This stylistic approach from someone who's name is basically synonymous with the trap genre is truly a breath of fresh air in the music scene. Hopefully, "Let's Start Here." will open up the floodgates for more artists to step outside their comfort zones and push the sonic envelopes further than expected.
