Kendrick Lamar - To Pimp a Butterfly

So obviously this album will be compared to GKMC. Well here's another comparison for ya. To Pimp A Butterfly is to good kid, m.a.a.d. city as In Utero is to Nevermind. Both masterpieces in their own ways. Seriously this album is great, believe the hype. It's totally different than good kid, as there seems to be a darker tone on this one. However if you're not into depressing or "scary" sounding music, this may not be for you. A good example is the song "u". Kendrick sounds ... read more

If I wasn't such a fan of Danny Brown this would probably get listened to alot more. There's some great production in here and Chance's lyrics are really good, like crazy good. No doubt an amazing mixtape!

Favorites: Good Ass Intro, Pusha Man, Favorite Song, Nana, Smoke Again, Acid Rain, Chain Smoker, Everything's Good (Good Ass Outro)

Didn't really dislike any of the songs actually, all songs are listenable

Believe it or not, I was a bigger fan of this before I started listening to his mixtape back in 2011 (which is amazing as well if you haven't heard it). Now that I got a good opinion on both of those works, I'd have to say the mixtape is definitely better, but I'm still a huge fan of this one. ASAP never disappoints with the beats, damn they're good, but his lyrics aren't as good as you'd hear something from the likes of Kendrick or Danny Brown. That doesn't ... read more

This is one of the best dance albums I've heard in a very long time, remind me of Daft Punk's Discovery, although they definitely have their own style. Very good, it is very hard to stop dancing when you're playing this. One of my favorites for the year. This is the kind of record you find yourself playing all the way through and completely forgetting you did so, it's that good!

Pretty much every song is good, the only ones I did not get into that much were Grab Her! and ... read more

Absolutely amazing. Haven't stopped listening to it since it came out. Been a fan of danny brown since xxx, which I think is a tiny bit better than this one, but it is truly hard to pick which one is better. XXX is my preference but this is still one godamn good album.

Favorites are Dip, Smokin & Drinkin, 25 Bucks, Dope Fiend Rental, Gremlins, Torture, Side A (Old)

Disliked Red 2 Go and Way Up Here
