honestly a big ass contender to SOTY

At this point, it feels like the score for a Drake album has been decided before it even drops for years. ICEMAN isn’t perfect, but it’s easily one of his most focused and consistent projects in a long time. Immaculate production, nice hooks, a hungrier performance and most of all, a clear sonic identity. Tbh splitting the rollout into three different sounds actually works, because it gives this album the cohesion his recent projects lacked.

I know it’s very cool to hate on Drake right now, but I threw this on during a 10k run and… I kind of get it? Maybe the heavy breathing spared me from the lyrics everyone seems to hate, but the beats and melodies are catchy, breezy and surprisingly fresh. Not a masterpiece, but it moves well and it’s definitely more enjoyable than the discourse suggests.

This is infectious af but the mixing bothers me a bit. Vocals are mudded and the drums fall flat
