This one is a real curio. Velvet Underground meets the Beach Boys and Dusty Springfield played through a kaleidoscope of production effects from any genre you can imagine over the past 70 years. Syd Barrett playing with the Stone Roses and Karen Carpenter. Just listen (its on youtube and bandcamp, probably not on your streaming service). Hard to single out any of the 32 tracks, in which there are several gems. Go for Flesh And Blood, Kingdom Come and Dracula for a taster.
More Americana, Katie Crutchfield is at the top of her game with Tiger's Blood. Big southern sounds exploring taboos ever present in life. There's loads to like, especially Ice Cold, Right Back To It, Bored, Crimes Of The Heart and Crowbar.
I'm just a complete sucker for the grand Western landscapes these guys create. Today Is The Day and The Dream are perfect examples.
Another brand new discovery, this is Americana or indie folk rock I guess. Her voice is reminiscent of a soulful Kacey Musgraves. Listen to White Lies, White Jesus And You, Jealous Of The Boys, Naive Again or Leading Actress for a good idea of what the album covers.
Contemporary, Mexican, quirky and rootsy. Love the vibe that is here. Real earthy songs that suck you in and make you move. Like Mano Negra (Manu Chao) from the 90s, if you are familiar. Cartagena is the stand out track, I also love Conexion Ancestral..
