From what I've listened to so far, this is her most cohesive project - and not in a good way. I first listened to it the year it was released, and I got hooked instantly. The album is an addictive mix of synthpop and experimental sounds, with catchy melodies that make you want to hit replay over and over <3 <3 They will go far!

Summarizing: everybody is f**** up. But, of course, with St. Vincent, this idea is much more explored and elaborated. I confess I was a little hesitant to listen to ABS at first, because the lyrics seemed scattered and out of context, especially with references to Sophie. What stood out the most to me here was Roisin's ability to create different atmospheres while staying within the same musical style. Simulation has this sensual vibe that pulls you in right away. Then, by the time you get to the final track, it's a complete chaotic frenzy, with that scream at the start that really kicks things off, lol. It's such a wild contrast but shows just how clever Roisin is in manipulating her sound.
