Honestly a super fun synthpop jolt of energy. It's clear Djo is moving in a far more dance-oriented, upbeat direction than the oppressive electronics of DECIDE, and honestly I'm looking forward to it. This track pretty objectively lacks the introspection of his earlier works, but is so much fun I didn't really care

Djo is back with a whole new album set for release in April, and “Basic Being Basic” is the lead single. This track keeps some of the same synthpop qualities from “DECIDE”, but I think Joe has even stronger lyrical topics here, and a ton of personality, this was actually hilarious. Super excited for this new record, expecting big things.
this is my first rating of anything official, and I am doing it in the middle of class so please excuse me if its a poor analysis, but I actually quite enjoy this song. As a slightly above average music consumer trying to learn to branch out, I have listen to all of Djo’s DECIDE album and I enjoyed it for the most part, but it had a lot of nuance and experimental sounds and song choices.
