Nostalgia is a strong emotion in the music world, and Bleed ride those throwback feels hard across a tight and punchy collection of airy, spacey alt metal tunes.

THE PHOENIX IS REBORN FROM ITS ASHES

The wave of Revival Nu Metal seems to be going on and, rather than thinking badly of this album that is actually a bit monotonous, it is now worth reflecting on in general.

The music of all these bands draws inspiration from the great Linkin Park and Limp Bizkit of the early 00s and, why not, also from Evanescence, while the vocal part is certainly inspired by the atmospheres of Deftones and Taproot.

This album is even more nu metal influenced compared to the band’s debut ep, while still also taking influence from shoegaze and alt metal. The sound here can get repetitive, especially because of the pretty samey vocals in like every song. I thought the first half of this was actually quite great, but then the rest of the album was, not that repetitive but more so just lower quality. Still decent enough in my opinion. Bleed is one of the many good bands in the wide world of Deftones-core, combining nu metal riffs and dreamy 90s shoegaze aesthetics. It's practically done to death at this point, but it's amazing when it's done right, their debut EP Somebody's Closer felt pretty indebted to its Hum influence, but with the added bonus of Around The Fur-style nu metal riffage. Deftones worship done right. This album finds power in nostalgia, shoegazy atmospheres and powerful production. From front to back, Bleed's self-titled is a nice journey that introduces you inside its world straight away, but with only one problem that becomes more visible the deeper you get into the record; it's extremely one-note and repetitive. boring deftones worship slop, the effect chino moreno has had on music should be studied and reverted if we keep getting stuff like this im so tired. album cover is highkey the best part

the wave of nu metal+ Deftones revival continue to offer a good band with a giod album.
nothing to scream to innovation but it's a solid lp
