I Know A Ghost is like watching someone attempt to create something new and useful from things one would find in an unkempt garden shed. Wow! After reading the previous review, there must be something wrong with me. I'm a church elder and a former High School choir teacher, and I absolutely love this Crowder album, I Know A Ghost. I love the mix of genres. I love the heavy, eerie, swampy feel to the title song and to Wildfire. Sometimes I just listen to it on repeat, but then again I am a fan of turn of the century gospel music, Rev. Gary Davis stuff, so this is great stuff as far as I am concerned.
As always, Crowder tries new things, makes some bangers, and makes some songs that aren't for everyone.
Crowder always has impeccable production, and he has incredible song writing ability, so it's always an adventure with his projects.
I Know A Ghost has some of his best work on it, this whole thing really works as a combined project. And I don't say this lightly, but Crushing Snakes is quite possibly a perfect song in every way.
