ELIO is back! After something in the air, it seems she's settled a bit more comfortably into a sound that suits her well. Autonomy feels like a cohesive work that remains consistent, and I think that helps me resonate a bit more with the album as a whole. It's got a coziness to it that suits well with the lyrical content. The separation from her producer ex did her well!
Favourite 3 Songs:
Sugar, baby
Lucky October
Sunbeam
Autonomy does not try anything new or long lasting with the genre, and makes these songs sound more like bedroom pop. However, it is not all bad. Saturday Night is the standout for me, and I replayed it multiple times after listening to the Album. My only criticism is that Autonomy just sounds like a gazillion things I have heard already. Tonally, this album is wholesome but repetitive to me. But, if you want something super easy to listen to I would highly recommend this.
En contraste con su anterior disco, carece de carisma, identidad e incluso voluntad.
No le encuentro elementos interesantes que destaquen dentro del mismo proyecto, es como si un par de descartes de something in the air fueran compactados y remixados en este formato.
