Another strong metallic hardcore release from 2025. Erode debut album 'Devout' heavily leaning into the hardcore drum and guitar sounding. It's dark, melodious and also notably influenced by death metal. I think they masterfully blend buildup of their songs to an moshing audience. Want to experience these guys live! Even if I'm not a mosher.
I think the album gets more dynamic as it goes on. The last 2 songs are a huge step up from the first 2. I especially like Coiled, as it is simply more fleshed out than many of the tracks here.
