I became a fan of Subtronics way back in 2019, and he's dropped a plethora of solid EPs and albums since then. He was one of my favorite dubstep artists in the scene for a while, and I even thought his album from last year, Tesseract, was pretty solid. Not his best work, but it had enough variety in its ideas to make for a very engaging, solid listen.

Subtronics' double album in "Fibonacci" left me wanting more. The first half felt too boring at times while the second could have been fleshed out further. There are absolutely some fun and brilliant moments throughout this record but it's hard for me to latch onto those when 80% of it sounds like generic festival bait.

I’ll give Subtronics credit right out of the gate. I actually really liked how "Fibonacci" rolled out.

Dropping the project in chunks first and letting them live as EPs before stitching everything together into a full album made this feel less like a sudden info dump and more like a slow reveal.
