Having mixed feelings about two other albums by Mesarthim that I previously heard, I was a bit hesitant to give another one a listen. But the recommendations from websites and music apps kept popping up more than viagra ads for an elderly man following Victoria Secret models Instagram accounts.

Grandiose electro/goth-pop flavours really add something different to this black metal - most of the time it works, though on the rare occasion it can sound too gimmicky and/or pompous.
