Parasignosis is a monumental, soul-gripping, and mind-blowing release, setting the bar insurmountably high for the rest of the 2011 metal season to come. Prepare yourselves for this one. You’ll be blown away.
As a listening experience, Parasignosis goes one of two ways for me. If I focus on it and attempt to comprehend its enigmatic glory, I'm rewarded with arresting and recondite revelation. If I try to let the album play as background music, it fights back, impinging upon my consciousness with a nebulous malevolence.

Plague Evockation begins with a pleasing looming build at Funeral Doom pace. I like the simple chugs as it progresses. Very frantic second half I very much enjoy the uptick in energy and the harmonics, taking more brutal approach. Nice start.
Lex Ego Exitium feels a little more like an interlude with its long build but then progresses into a nice blackend hellscape. I like the production here a good bit, fun drums. I like how the tracks blend together ... read more
