Definitely feels like early Stan, and it's still a good release. The drops are really good, especially on 'High Five!' and 'Throwdown'. Though lyrically all the songs are pretty repetitive even if the lyrics aren't that bad. Fox Stevenson is not a great songwriter but I think with EDM it's fine if the songs are more focused on sound than lyrics. On Throwdown, Fox Stevenson has discovered his signature distorted sound, but doesn’t quite have a good idea how to use it effectively yet. It’s very rough but is enjoyable and definitely original. The sounds seem to take inspiration from other electronic acts like Flux Pavilion but twisted into Stevenson’s own original sound. It’s fine, but it’s not too effective in making an impact and is pretty messy.
All in genuinely surprised me by just being a absolute banger. Throwdown is also quite good too. Pretty significant step up from Endless, which was only 1 year ago.
