A few years after Mark Oliver Everett made Bad Dude In Love (which he doesn't like BTW), he got himself a record deal with Polydor and released his solo debut: A Man Called E. Under the stage name of E, this is practically the birth of EELS. You can see his songwriting style having taken shape into something you could find back easily on some later EELS albums (mainly everything from Daisies Of The Galaxy on).
