I've always had a soft spot for early Galantis...they had so much to offer, and provided such a fresh take considering how stale EDM had become. This small collection of introductory tracks are so light and fun, and I love revisiting them from time to time (also, did you know the vocalist on "You" is Britney Spears?! I only found out a couple of years ago).
The self titled debut EP by DJ duo Galantis doesn’t represent much of a variety to them. It’s a very generic house sound that is honestly kind of boring. The production is very lackluster and dry and it’s not really too exciting either. It is a good mood though and radiates happy energy very well.
Strong enough EP, but suffers from being somewhat bland and somewhat withdrawn. I feel like with EDM you have to go all out to either hit the nail on the head or miss entirely, and this does neither.
