Rare is the album wherein post-punk spunk, samba, polka, soundtracks and marching bands collide: Solid Pleasure combines them with a mixture of presumptuous eccentricity and sophisticated camp.
Yello's debut, Solid Pleasure, take the synthpop formulae and basically does it if they were on acid for an experimental quirky avant-garde l;isten which sometimes hits the mark impressively and sometimes fails to truly impress but as a whole is an enjoyable experience filled with wacky ideas and captivating moments.

Oh man this was some surprisingly weird shit but even then I should’ve expected that. As I am finally covering the Synthpop project of Yello and went with their debut album and it was even odder then I could’ve anticipated.
