a return to the sound she attempted with "noir", with the added signature sunmi touch that's found in her earlier singles e.g. "gashina" or "heroine" (both of which are very good songs btw)
i think it's a banger, ngl! it's a very safe choice for sunmi but for this kind of music, given the disappointments that were "lalalay" and her kdrama OST "gotta go," it's undoubtedly a return to form for one of the most significant soloists in recent kpop ... read more
A BANGER!!!
This is the sound she should have gone with ages ago. I mean i like her other work, too, but the citypop genre seems to be working amazing with her.
Wow! I did not expect to love it as much as I did! This track also showed me that choruses that start with energetic OOH’s are 10 times better than regular choruses. Outside of the chorus the track’s production is magnificent. I love how it sounds like a soundtrack to a lighthearted adventure film and the guitar and symphonic elements in the bridge are SO nice. In the end it changes up the vocals and the transition from the regular chorus to the soft chant was pulled off very well!
A quintessential piece of Sunmi's music. This song has it all that is best of Sunmi. Her beautiful and classic vocals, Her good songwriting and the amazing retro style production that has become her signature sound. This song is certainly at the zenith of her discography. That deserves to be known and heard. A must listen for anyone who is unfamiliar with Sunmi's work.
Again, not my favorite thing Sunmi has released, but it is cute and fun and I like listening to it. She is an artist that I enjoy both her darker songs and her lighter ones because her voice just suits everything. And the fact that she writes her own lyrics makes me more obsessed.
