Solar Fields is one of my personal favourite composers of Psybient music. One of his most famous projects is the soundtrack to the 2008 videogame Mirror's Edge, a first-person stealth / platformer for PS3 & Xbox 360.

I loved that game a lot, and the soundtrack was perfect for capturing the tone of the game, balancing between atmospheric to intense + energetic.

I really like this thing, honestly. The first two tracks are great, and while a lot of the other songs don't quite match that quality, it's still all-around really solid.

The production is very transcendent and atmospheric. The songs are long, they have a lot of progressions, they are very trancey, and have a lot of synths and interesting percussion.

The trance production on this thing is nuts. This is one of the best psychedelic experiences I've had with electronic music, ever. It goes insanely wild with groovy loops and whirling synths that make me feel like I'm entering a black hole.

Opener "Summer" has one of the best pay-offs in electronic music I have ever listened to, and "Brainbow" does its name justice, with how colorful and yet cerebral it feels. Also, the main synth loop on "Adjustment" is insane. ... read more
