I thought my experience in city pop and j-rock would help me out in my first exposure to k-indie(?), but it most definitely didn’t. I believe the is to be more similar to (and directly derivative of) 80s/90s East Asian radio ballads , a little musical rabbit hole I love. The softly-layered instrumentals here paired with their beautiful, soft vocals really work together incredibly. Shoutouts dosii n shoutouts @honeygali for putting me on 😈
Cool has taken a wild journey over the years. From its birth with Miles Davis all through the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, and 2000s, it seemed to have found its way to Dosii. This ep is straight up cool.
