In my eyes, this was the start of their "Classic" periode. Some people see this as their best work, I don't, but it's still fantast8c. My only problem is that the second side isn't nearly as good as the first side, even though it has the best song on the album. But still, a classic Thin Lizzy album
This album is just a fun, amazing, classic rock listen that just puts me in such a great mood.
Many or the basic elements of this record, on their own, would make for a perfectly average and forgettable Hard Rock record- but something about Lynott's smooth-as-silk timbre against the bluesy guitars make for a record with too much charm to write off. After 4 albums they finally found their sound on Fighting. Night Life has Sha-la-la and It’s Only Money which are more similar to what’s to come but this really has their sound in full force with the quality and pacing. Side 1 has some insane first few songs snd side 2 is about as good but just misses it by a bit. I love this album snd it’s criminally underrated in classic rock circles it needs some more love
