it's about what you'd expect from an Action Bronson album. Which isn't bad at all, the really goofy and funny bars with the boom bap beats that scream Bronson's for really unexplainable reasons. It shows why we love the guy even if it's not his strongest.
He's at his most pure and minimalistic here, the instrumentals are raw like deli meat off the slicer, and Bronson uses it to curate a perfect album like a deli sandwich from Queens. How does it taste so much better in Queens? CUZ ITS THAT REAL SHIT MADE BY REAL PEOPLE.
Funny bars and vivid storytelling over pure boom bap beats. Action Bronson delivers a pretty good debut album that showcases his raw energy and personality.
Proof of how important a good album cover is. The project is pretty solid all the way throughout, but I completely wrote it off because the cover looked like a high school art project and I figured the music reflected that. Glad I powered through it.
I’ve been aware of Brunson for years. Whether it was when he was on Joe Rogans podcast, wrestling in AEW, or his features on other people’s songs. Even with all of this, I never checked out his music. I thought since his got a new album coming soon now would be the perfect time.
I’m a fan of this. He certainly can rap, I love the production, and his bars are just so appealing to me for some reason.
