this thing has some fuckin infectious melodies and structures, chiptune is an underrated musical medium i think. this is basically an 8-bit math/prog rock album and it goes hard as hell. happy to know it's held up in the time since i last listened to it like 4 years ago, no wonder it appealed to me during my math rock phase
I feel like I knew what I was getting into with this album, but at the same time, I didn't. The opening to this album is very harsh and loud and unnerving... but then it became a rather pleasant 8-bit surprise. This album is some nice chiptune, with some pretty harsh elements sometimes thrown in there... Kinda reminds me of the stuff off Redux34 or Resolution, both being albums by zabutom, which are albums that I enjoy. Anyway, Level is a very interesting album and the songs off of it ... read more
