I really liked Under the Witching Cross, and was mildly disappointed by how okay most of the black metal infused releases I heard. And so, I remain disappointed listening to this album. For sure, its a lot less generic than Midnight's latest, but this record just seems to lack an...oomph, impact, heaviness. There's a bunch of tracks that just sound like Iron Maiden (I swear, Metal Burner is just Maiden's Be Quick or Be Dead), and that doesn't really jive with me. A perfectly servisable album with songs I think would rip live, but this album just comes off a bit as diet Hellripper with good solos
