Pretty standard smooth Jazz recording from the early-90s but one or some of the things holding me back is or are the records of a similar caliber released in the 1980s. They were more daring, original and inspired than this borderline soulless reinterpretation of them. There were barley any hooks and if there were they are found better in an MCA Master Series or GRP release.
It would be easy write off this album as "Weather channel music", but once really listened to closely and enjoyed in an environment outside of cable timeslots, it actually has a lot to offer on almost every front. Catchy, sparkly melodies and non-verbal storytelling, EXPERT production and performances by every member of the quartet, and a timeless vibe that is never going to feel any older than it does right now.
