Defacement

It was alright. Not really too cosmic bar a few passages but decent blackened death.

The vocals, I didn't really vibe with (starting a review negatively for a change) but the atmosphere was nice. Drumming wasn't my cup of tea but the guitars were nice. It was that kind of album where for every positive you find a negative that balances everything out.

Not bad, but didn't really enjoy it as much as I hoped . Onto the next album we go.

Phenomenal release which really sounds revolutionary and ahead of the curve. Defacement blends some typical atmospheric black metal structures with lot's of dissonance and death metal influence, creating a fascinating, dirty soundscape that's very brutal and entrancing, and actually pretty unique.
