This album's a bit frustrating. The performances here make for a really stellar blackgaze release--the vocals are fucking KILLER, the guitarwork alternates between dreamlike beauty and dense heaviness, and all in all it's a phenomenally-composed piece of modern black metal. I got recommended this about two years ago when I wanted to dive deeper into blackgaze.
It's decent, but it doesn't quite expand it's purpose enough for me to love it. There are cool percussive moments sometimes though, which I like.
I heard this album yesterday for the very first time, it hit me as one of the hardest hitting first listens to any album ever, ive already listened to it two more times, it just fucking earns this rating. This album is cold, and itches every sense and makes me feel like im on some sort of weird drug as I listen. This thing is fucking beautiful
