some pleasant and nicely textured ambient pieces on here, but very little to explore or come back to. would've been a lot better if they expanded on the tim hecker-ish human voice manipulation sound they sported earlier on.

Cinematic? Yes. Gripping? Not even a chance. Willamette achieves an unidimensional and tedious sound in ALL the nine tracks. This trio relies on the same formula over and over again, until you just feel like you are stuck on the same tune for half an hour, they start at slow pace, then the melody gets high-pitched and in the end it comes back to how it began.
