Yeah I get that the singer's message is "don't let other people veto your love" but the delivery in the chorus feels like "haha bitch I never gave a shit about your opinion on the matter and I'm gonna marry your daughter anyway. COPE!" Like why'd you ask in the first place then. Yeah I know you don't want to be enemies with her father and would rather ask him nicely first but like you're doing a complete 180 on him and it comes off as a bit annoying
