‘Killjoy’ isn’t a record for everyone. Though it certainly isn’t without melody, you have to dig deep beneath the tirelessly mesmeric riffing to actually find any.
My favourite New Zealand album of the 90s, and it's not without a bunch of stiff competition - but this record is a formative one for me even as someone who lives on the other side of the ditch (aka the Tasman Sea) from where this band calls home. Basically Desert Island status personally
NZ's best hard rock album. grooovy, heaaavyyy, caatcchhyyy, it's really the whole package. think nine inch nails meets soundgarden. it goes HARD.
