This is in my opinion, the perfect 7/10. I like what's here, all of it is fine on paper and done well, recorded well, etc. But I just didn't really get into it or really latched onto anything. That's more of a me problem that an album problem though, which is why I'm giving it a 70. Sorry, I do want to like it more, but I just can't. I'll check out their other stuff, maybe they got better material?
I liked the style and musicianship but none of the melodies stuck with me and as a result my listening experience felt pretty monotonous.
Sunsleeper has this melancholic indie rock sound that I enjoyed, it almost has a shoegaze quality to it. Well worth the listen to, and I'm surprised that not many people have checked this one out.
