Not bad! Enjoyed this a lot more than the album he did with Johnny Depp at the very least.

When I think Jeff Beck, I think of his time in The Yardbirds and his virtuosity at Jazz Rock and Fusion guitar playing. Naturally, before he would transition into that style he had to bust out of his Blues-based rock music. I always preferred Jeff's more boundary-pushing guitar playing personally, but I get why; especially for musicians, his blues material would be looked at so fondly.

it really did not move in the slightest for some reason, maybe it's the lackluster vocals of rod stewart, or maybe the songs felt too short for me connect with them, but this wasn't it for me

I have heard of Jeff Beck in passing but I can't say I have ever been itching to hear one of his projects, until now. I get that Jeff Beck is important for being a part of The Yardbirds with as much talent as that band had, and for being a pretty solid guitar player, but that is about as far as my knowledge of him goes. Yeah, this was completely fine, nothing wrong with it at all, even if it didn’t fully grab me in the way I’d hoped. It took me a little while to properly sit with it and give it the attention, which maybe says something about how it lands. A lot of it blends together into that classic, super bluesy sound, which is enjoyable but can feel a bit samey across the whole thing.
