While the psychedelic aspects of Exotico can’t be understated, neither can the band’s grasp of pop. The effortless way Temples incorporates and balances those two styles makes them stand out as some of the most inspired practitioners in a sea of modern musical uniformity.

‘Exotico’ let’s go of control, so remarkable things can happen. It’s the closest Temples have been to releasing a masterpiece, and that’s saying something.

Classic Rock
Temples' fourth leaps from the speakers tapping veins of electro-psych, hypno-kosmische and soft-focused unreality.

AllMusic
One does have to wonder if the songs would have had more impact if they were a bit less produced and mixed. Ultimately, the fault lies with everyone involved and their combined efforts lead to an album that is nice to have playing while idly doing household chores, but is unlikely inspire too many repeat listens.

Uncut

The album is at its most interesting when it breaks from this mould, embracing more atmospheric sensibilities.

Mojo

The album's second half-hour wilts, but the first is Temples excelling as never before.

Spectrum Culture
The psych band’s newest record is as indebted to the ‘60s as ever, but their sound reaches critical levels of bombast.

Essentially a facsimile of their earlier work and ultimately wearying at 16 songs, Exotico is the sound of a band coasting on previous hints of divine inspiration, as predictable as songs titled Inner Space, Giallo and Movements Of Time signpost.

Exotico’s mix of psychedelic indie and dreamy melodies is something that I was really drawn to from the get go, especially with the track Gamma Rays. It sounds retro inspired without being a rip off carbon copy of the era, with it still in keeping with such a fresh and dynamic sound. Absolutely perfect for summer.

There are some insanely good songs on here like gamma rays and inner space

I feel like compared to Hot Motion, this Psychedelia record is a lot more fine tuned and fast paced. Temples creates a more cinematic experience and while there are so amazingly produced tracks that experience seems to muddy my focus and make me feel a little bored. Still a great project though.

EL hecho de que el hijo de John Lennon propusiera esto hace Cannon las comparaciones con The Beatles. Pero es un buen trabajo.

Will be back soon to write a better review but for now, i really enjoyed this album. Perfect upbeat summer vibes, very chill easy listening which is typically my favorite. Basically The Beatles meets Tame Impala and creates an even better masterpiece somehow, (nothing will tops the beatles though in my heart oops).

Overall, the album feels very polished and cohesive, and I really enjoyed it. “Meet Your Maker” is my favorite track so far, and I thought the closing song was especially beautiful. I haven’t listened to their other albums yet, so I can’t say how it compares, but I liked this one a lot.
