To continue on with their compilation suggestion, why not just get to the other album that accompanies Init Ding with their follow up album _snd. And well I’d say Init Ding is a much better album if im being honest but this was still pretty neat.. It’s another nice Glitch and Ambient album with some blends of Electroacoustic. The album feels like a computer finally achieving sentience whilst dying underwater and slowly short-circuiting.

Within this short life, the computer can only try to save itself but fail as it continues to sink further down into the abyss. In a way, it reminds me of the game 'Water Womb World' a lot, with the distortion of reality occurring underwater as more time passes. There is life here, but what is life here? Do While from Oval's 94diskont might be my favourite piece that had anything to do with Markus Popp, but this is no doubt the best album he's been a part of. Popp really managed to weave his own tapestry of ambient music in an endless sea of ambient music sounding very much like imitations of eachother, focussing more on the glitchy, computerised soundscapes that no doubt would have been so evocative with the sudden rise of the internet in that decade.
