All of this sounds fine, if a bit generic: these are great songs performed ably and if they're not distinctive, they at least suit the spirit of the film's open-hearted hero worship.

Based on Roddy Doyle's book, Alan Parker's film tells the story of a band, formed by some celtic, soul brothers in the Northside of Dublin, a story that contains hope, management, love, trouble, vision and disappointment, not necessarily in that order, while the music is the undeniable protagonist of the film.
