Black Medium Current

a very weird and unique black metal album. The atmosphere was absolutely incredible, the weird and almost darkwave inspired vocals i really enjoyed. The industrial elements on this album really helped with the aforementioned atmosphere, gave it a really nice vibe. Overall a very enjoyable and unique black metal record.

It stands out on its own as one of the most different and creative avant-garde black metal LPs this year. Et smelter & Interstellar Nexus are the two tracks that really hooked me the most, great LP!

“Et smelter” is one of my favorite black metal songs, so that’s why the rest feels a lot less interesting to me, but there are some gorgeous moments in this. The last track is stunning (the way he sings the first line will always make me laugh but then it transforms into the most breathtaking song ever).

Thanks for the recommendation @Anypsotis! This is some very fascinating black metal, a very engaging and patient listen, even if Im not often able to connect with it fully. The instrumentals are very unique and diverse, so many darkwave-influenced elements also in the vocals, which are unfortunately very hit or miss, sometimes the delivery is so good but sometimes it's very underwhelming.
