Saez - Apocalypse

I find myself in a bit of a predicament here…

See, 'Apocalypse' came out last year, and for those who know me on this site as “this one Tallah fan who usually gives good ratings, except when he suddenly feels like hating on stuff”, you probably don’t know how much Saez meant to me.

Weakling meet Trhä!

'Sick with Bloom' lacks angular and varied song structures, but its drum tone, very clearly inspired by Weakling, along with its ethereal, Trhä-like atmosphere, makes the result delicious.

Such a fruitful, fresh, and flourishing concoction.

Christofascism: the album.

Conservative music simply cannot be good- art cannot resonates when it is confined to a cishet, white supremacist echo chamber.

Skillet went from 'alt rock for pseudo-emo' to 'white noise for white trash' in the blink of an eye (even though we saw this transition coming a long time ago).

Shame on all those who think THAT is heavy music!

PING!PING!PING!PING!PING!PING!PING!

This album is extremely difficult to rate, for its inherent purpose is to be as whimsically repugnant as possible.

I am no longer tethered to reality…

Oh… it’s actually growing on me quite a lot… (still in need of a remaster though, one might think that having the producer of Converge would have made it heavy, but apparently not).

Enslaved - Isa

I have mixed feelings about 'Isa', but given the pretty damn high rating I gave it, you can probably guess that there are more things I like about it than things I dislike.

Is this album black metal? The answer is yes, the guitar tone and shrieking vocals are undeniably black metal, but… it is actually far too catchy. Between gripping melodies, light piano/orchestra, and clean singing, Enslaved deliver some VERY accessible black metal bangers- I’m here for it!
