If you like Godspeed! You Black Emperor and Boris, this might be up your alley. Super underrated record. I prefer Decedre over Mourn, Decedre has lots of elements similar to post rock. Great album
This one man doom metal project from Oregon is one of the most outstanding acts in the last 20 years. Their brand of droning blackened doom metal is unique and as sonically extreme as it gets. This record has some great guitars, and a great concept, however there are some glaring issues.
One of these being it's aimlessness. Most of this album feels like slow Doom-Metal branded meandering, it has slow, boring, nothing-burger passages that go on for ages with no real pay off.
In the mist of these dark and pointless sections are some great guitar riffs however, and some nice textures that really sell the desolate aesthetic.
