By the time Seminario Dieci drops the curtain with its far more deliberate pace and placement of heavy influence, Calligram will either have lost you, or you’ll be worshipping at their twisted altar.

It marks a step up for the band on previous output that has already received a well-justified share of high praise, and in turn provides another stellar example of the diverse and outstanding quality found in this particularly extreme corner of the UK scene that CALLIGRAM have made their home in.

Calligram has toned down its sludge influences which may alienate some listeners, but their sophomore full-length feels more concise and focused in its songwriting.

There’s little here which feels wholly fresh, but the music is undeniably well-crafted and competently delivered.
