pretty disgusting pigfuckery. certainly ‘unique’, and the 80s Touch and Go production is most definitely there. most of the band don’t really show their true potential here apart from in the first two tracks, which are 10s. this is a meagre ep though, i have no doubt the rest of their discog outdoes this

While not as outwardly punk-influenced as Snakeboy, Burl presents a condensed, more consistent serving of slower, less energetic tracks. Whilst Gerald's bass doesn't quite have as much as a firm presence, the overall sound of the EP is just as, and at times grimier than Snakeboy. Also, the Jessi Colter cover of "I'm Not Lisa" is certainly a reality check going from the original piano-driven ballad, to this gruff (but still commercial by KIlldozer standards) cover.
